I came "this close" to calling this post "Pregnant." Not as in expecting a child but as in pregnant with possibilities. I didn't because I'm anti-heart-attack, but boy was it tempting. :)
So yes, I'm feeling like my life is pregnant with possibilities right now. Can't go into it, but suffice it to say, I'm feeling some good stuff coming my way. Yay!
I'm thankful for, among other things,
1) possibilities, possibilities, possibilities
2) safe travels for my parents
3) good books
4) clients making mad progress
5) "Minuit à Paris," Woody Allen's new movie which is really more of a love note to Paris, past and present
Really enjoyed the movie and I think it's now out in the US (I think we actually got it FIRST for a change!), so I highly recommend it. Light-hearted and filled with light; beautiful shots of Paris. Made me say, "It's true, I live in the most amazingly beautiful city in the world." And I do. So grateful for that too.
And you? Love to hear what's new in your world!
bisous

Slack...and back
Oh la la...I am slack. But I'm back. Slack and back.
It's not easy, this life. But you know that. And in spite of the fact that life is hard, life is also beautiful. Witness:
1) the cool breeze that has perfect timing and blows exactly when I need a little cooling off
2) new friends who end up being the perfect companions for an evening of wine tasting and laughing, and laughing, and laughing
3) a full social calendar...then a night or two at home to recover
4) "Dr. House." That's what it's called here, and it's just as awesome as I remember.
5) Robert Downey, Jr. (I know at least one of you who is as thankful for this beautiful, talented man as I am. :)
Et voila...for now.
bisous

Learning
Hey friends!
Quick list today...let's go!
1) learning...I love to learn, and although I have a love/hate (mostly hate) relationship with computers, I love that they allow us to learn so much (for free!). Whether it's how to make a certain dish or how to understand other people better, there are so many great learning resources at our fingertips
2) skype...on the same theme, I love being able to see my parents and talk with them even though we live on different continents
3) that I live (for the 2nd year in a row) in the district that is home to the official BEST baguette in Paris! Lucky me!
4) that I have work (even if it's just a little) Monday through Friday this week
5) that I have a date with a friend to have MEXICAN food this week too!!! Bring it ON!
And you? How's life?
bisous

May flowers
Hi friends,
Hope all is well with you! I have been super-slack lately with this blog. I don't know why...I've always got so much to be grateful for. I'm not even that busy right now. Maybe that's it. You know how the more you have to do, the more you seem to be able to get done? Maybe I've got too little on my plate. Should be the reason that I'm even better about coming here regularly, but apparently I don't work that way. Anyway, on to the reason I'm here. Today I'm thankful for lots including:
1) a fun surprise visit from a friend last week
2) the fact that the wool coat has been put away for the season. And not a minute too soon.
3) sunshine and cool breezes
4) no sugar for a few days...gotta break the cycle, and I'm doing it
5) a whole stack of books that I can't wait to read
6) the beautiful wedding slideshow that my friend and gorgeous bride Melina shared with me...I couldn't be there, but the slideshow is evidence of just how magical and beautiful their day was. Loved watching it.
7) a delightfully magical dinner with "the girls" Sunday night...so much fun and such sweet, amazing chicas
8) one less mad terrorist wandering the earth (God BLESS the US military.)
9) good feedback from my clients (who may love me almost as much as I love them)
10) a beautiful new day
11) the gorgeous flowers all around - in the florists, in the parks, on the trees, everywhere...magnificent.
12) a beautiful, sweet, magical royal wedding. Loved the dress, love the whispered sweet-nothings...loved everything...
13) ...except the hat. Beatrice, what in the world were you thinking? Horrible but such a great laugh!!!
14) and finally, I am so grateful to be FINISHED with the WORST CLASS EVER. Seriously, every professor at the school dreaded teaching this group; they were the most immature group of students I have ever seen. Anyway, I am finished with them, I have graded their final exams, turned in their grades, and I am D-O-N-E done with them. Hallelujah!!!
Ok, had to make up a little for lost time, so went a little overboard today--a baker's dozen plus one. Hope you're having a wonderful week and have lots to be grateful for!
bisous
