A few friends have asked me where I've been. Certainly not here blogging. I felt like I was boring...saying the same things day after day. No, they said, and even if you do say the same things, it's ok. Alrighty then, I'm going to try to get back into regular gratitude blogging. I think it's good for my soul anyway, and I always said if no one else read or commented, that was ok with me. (Although I do LOVE it when people comment and especially when they add their gratitude lists.)
So, where were we...Ah July. Bon voyage, July. And don't let the door hit you on the way out. No, July wasn't a bad month. It was a month of good work and good fun, but the weather was dreadful. Cold, rainy, grey, miserable weather. I mean, I like to put the jeans far, far in the back of the closet for at least four or five months out of the year, but no. So far, they have spent about 2 days put away before I've had to pull them back out in order to brave the chill. Tomorrow is August, and I am hoping that this little month will redeem summer in Paris this year. It's all on you August...and I am pulling for you!
So, without further blah, blah, blah...the gratitude:
1) yesterday and today, Saturday and Sunday...sun! sun! sun!!! Blue skies! No rain!!! Merci Dieu.
2) that the car that blew up around the corner today won't be waking me up tomorrow morning with its little "I'm gonna blow up" threats. Seriously, two mornings of horrible noises waking me around 4am, and I was glad to see the firemen putting that thing out of its misery.
3) Frenchie Wine Bar...delish Frenchie food and no need to make a reservation two months in advance!
4) Mexican food in Paris...not 100% up to back home standards, but darn close
5) One year (THAT'S RIGHT!!! A whole year!) carte de séjour that I get on Friday...woo hoo!!! At last!
