Hi everyone!
Today was back to work day for many of us, and like many others, I am quite grateful to have work! I love it when I have enough time off to almost miss working.
Also, I was stopped by the head of one of the programs I teach in and asked about a conflict one student has with the time of my final exam. We discussed options and came up with a solution...all in French. I didn't even think about it until I was walking home, but then I realized that I went from two weeks of mostly English right into a full-blown professional conversation in French without so much as a hiccup. I'm miles and miles from fluent, but boy it feels good to respond normally instead of getting nervous and having to think about every syllable of every conversation.
So I'm grateful today...grateful for:
1) easing my way back into work
2) French! It has become my friend!
3) the technology that allows me to keep in touch with family and friends AND do lots of work from home
4) my super-duper French washing machine that gets everything super clean
5) my favorite hand lotion on sale: two for the price of 1!
Happy Monday to you...do tell what's good about your life today!
NICE! Maybe this year I'll pick up a seond language myself...wouldn't that be something! :)
ReplyDeleteMine:
1) My best friend from high school, with whom I am still (and always will be) in touch.
2) Getting to ring in the new year on the NC coast.
3) A job to go back to once the celebrating is over
4) A home to come back to when I realize I can't stay at the beach forever.
5) Again...my awesome husband. :)
1) My sweet Brie (Whippet) learning at age 11 to growl! Sunny (Doxie) went after Brie's chewey and for the first time in her life she growled at him. He left it alone after that, considering that she's about 4 times his size.
ReplyDelete2) Another gorgeous day. Cool but not terribly cold, and very little if any wind. I can take the cold, but the wind . . .
3) Hubby is finally going to pick up the lawnmower that was "our" Christmas gift.
4) A wonderful friend in Sanford, NC whom I have emailed back and forth with for over 10 years but have never met. We've spoken once on the phone when I was in the hospital - neither of us has the others home phone number. I consider her one of my best friends and can tell her absolutely anything.
5) A day like today when I have absolutely NOTHING pressing to do. The house is clean, at least by my standards, I don't have any Ruritan or Master Gardener obligations, and I am ENJOYING it!
1)Roller skating with Ginger this weekend.
ReplyDelete2)My friends Alicia and John
3)Leo(my motorcycle, though it's been too cold to ride.)
4)This blog to remind me to be grateful.
