Happy Thanksgiving!
In France we call it Thursday.
I didn't do anything special today (although I did have Indian food for lunch which was made me giggle), but I will be celebrating with friends on Saturday, and we'll do the traditional prepare way too much food then eat way too much thing. My first two years here I didn't celebrate Thanksgiving at all, so this will be a fun first with great people.
For dinner tonight I had one of my favorite meals, if you can call it that: heavenly Mont d'Or cheese, warm baguette (I mean it was HOT when I bought it), a fresh pear, and a little red wine...well, a couple of glasses. I figure the loads of cheese on bread aren't the healthiest thing I could have, but the pear and the red wine have to add a little touch of healthy to it. Right? Man, it is so good. It's a seasonal cheese, so I can only eat it about 6 months out of the year. Probably a very good thing.
As for gratitude, I'm thankful for so much today including delicious food, sharing delicious food with friends, having found a 2nd place for decent Indian food...theme of the day is apparently food...totally unoriginal. I mentioned yesterday being thankful for my parents, my health, and their health, but since it's Thanksgiving I have to mentÃon again how very thankful I am for all of that. And for Potter and Gracie...and Belle and the absolute saints (Sterling...especially YOU!), that take care of her. I have so much to be grateful for, but I'll stop here for now.
Thanks for stopping by. I hope you have much to be thankful for today too!
bisous
OK - I've got something! Today I went to the gym and I thought how grateful I am that I was able to join again and in spite of the smells, I enjoyed that I could sweat and be so very happy when I left and walked home with the cool air on my face. :-)
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Awesome. I'm impressed that you can stand the smells! :)
