Perceptively small

Salut mes amis!

It's me again. I'm finally home after a long day and am happy to be enjoying the warmth of my little abode. The weather isn't quite at the frightful stage yet, but it sure is cold!

So today's gratitude list includes Franglais. Or Frenglish. Or Engrench. Haha...I think I like that one best: Engrench. I was reading student papers today and had to laugh a few times at their Engrench. My favorite, although it was difficult to choose, was a description of a store as "perceptively small."  I'm thinking he meant deceptively small, but one never really knows. I was glad I was alone in my office when I read it because I giggled...loudly. And for the record, I'm sure I make the same sort of mistakes in French. And am laughed at. It's ok; if I figure out what I've done (or am told which is more often the case), I laugh too. It's funny!

Among other things I'm thankful for,

  • nice people on the bus this morning. Really! I'm not kidding! The metro was temporarily not running, so we all hightailed it to the bus stop....all of us. Plus the usual bus riders. But in spite of being uncomfortably close to complete strangers, everyone was super nice and super polite. Believe me, that's not normal. But it was certainly a welcome change.
  • Nikos Aliagas. I know, you probably don't know who he is, but he is so handsome, and I saw him on tv for about 5 minutes tonight and was reminded of just how handsome he is. Wow.
  • already having dinner in the fridge. No grocery store stop when I left work at 7. No wondering what on earth I would fix. Done. Nice.
OH! I have forgotten for days to mention that my friend Ann knew the Tim Conway little old man character's name:  Mr. Tudball! Yes!!! And his secretary was Mrs. Wiggins, but it was Tudball that I couldn't come up with. They were a funny pair.

Ok, tell me what you're grateful for today. Pretty please!

bisous
