Being Needed

Hello you!

I'm just going to jump right in. Yesterday I was having coffee with someone who has become a good friend, and she said, "You know, you need to get back to doing your gratitude journal again. I used to read it, and even though I never commented, it would make me ask myself what I was grateful for. It helped me, and I'll bet there were other people it helped too."

Wow. At the time I was honestly too tired for the impact to hit. But this morning I thought about it, and it really made me think. What if my gratitude journal was helping make one person's day a little better? What if it was helping one person put things into perspective and realize that she had things to be grateful for even on the bleakest seeming of days? What if it was helping someone...and now because I'm not keeping up with it, it's not? Or how about this--what if it was only helping me, but in so doing, making me a little kinder to people or a little more understanding? Little actions can make big differences, and if I can help someone have a better day, I want to do it.

So it's recommitment day here in gratitude land. They might not always be long posts, but I am pledging to make them regularly...make that daily. And I'm not putting a minimum number on them either--before it was 5 a day, and I sometimes went over, but as my friend pointed out, some days one thing is enough. And I'm putting them back out there on facebook too b/c my friend also told me that if I don't, she doesn't know they're here.

So we're baaaack........and it's Saturday morning, so today I'm so grateful for:

  • sleeping in...how sweet it is
  • Mont d'Or cheese...tis the season, and it is delish
  • the possibility (insert prayer here!) that I may have found an apartment
  • my sweet, wonderful parents
  • my sweet, furry, snoring, kitties
  • last but not least, being able to do something--even something small, to help someone else. What a gift.
So it just happens to be six today. And now...what about you? I love reading your comments and learning about what you're grateful for.

Yep, it feels good to be back. Have a great weekend!

bisous
