From time to time I think of doing a sarcastic gratitude list. If I were to do that, I'd say I was grateful for things like the amazingly warm, friendly French; the fact that Parisiens wouldn't dream of leaving dog poo on the sidewalk; the politeness of people in the metro (not to mention their minty fresh smell); the ease at which things get done around here, and so on. But I'm not going to make that list. Not today anyway. Today I'm going to kick off the list by being grateful for sinfully good yogurt.
You read that right... yogurt. Full fat, of course, and so creamy and rich...the best yogurt ever. My favorite flavors are the least exciting: lemon, vanilla, and plain. Sometimes with fresh fruit added in, but usually not. It's amazing how yogurt can be good enough to be dessert.
So what else for today? Well, how about...
- hope
- a hilarious video of a friend dancing on top a car sent by another friend...it's comforting to know some things never change. ;)
- students who want to learn
- a warm, cozy home to come home to at the end of a chilly day
I'll bet you could make a sarcastic gratitude list too...couldn't we all? What about the things you're really grateful for today? Care to share?
Here's a picture of Sacré Coeur that I found somewhere (and can't remember where...shhhh...). I didn't take it, but I can't say who did. But isn't it gorgeous?
bisous!

"Their minty fresh smell" Ha ha ha ha ha ha!
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for the yogurt gelato at Grom. Have you ever had it? OMG. It always has to be one of the flavors I choose when I go there.
(ease WITH which, not at which. Pffff...)
ReplyDeleteNo, Jennifer...I haven't! Gotta add it to the to-eat list. Like a to-do list only yummier. :)
You KNOW I fully agree with the lemon yaourt gratefulness! I love your sarcastic list ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm grateful for having known Phil Conrad - a wonderful classmate and friend who is dying of lymphoma.
Aw Quynh...sorry to hear about your friend. I'll bet he's thankful for knowing you too.
ReplyDeleteMiss you.

Until I got to "Minty fresh" I thought you were still being serious and wondered who your marvelous neighbors are that they NEVER leave poo on the ground for others to clean up! I was seriously thinking of moving...
ReplyDeleteI am grateful for my ever present naivete... and French yogurt! Having a full fat Fig one now!
Gina, I'm a day late; but, yesterday, I was grateful for watching NFL games with my son, Terry.
ReplyDeleteAnd, I must say I'm grateful for you re-acquainting me with the grandeur of Paris!
Merci! Bon soir!
Zabie - fig yogurt? I have not had it, but I must! I love figs!
ReplyDeleteTom - Hi! So happy to see you here! Thanks for commenting!
